Some more Vegas ...

Well, it looks like we're going with Aquaknox for our final dinner reservation. As much as we enjoy Emeril's restaurants (those that we've tried at least) we can't bring ourselves to spend that kind of money on what is essentially a steakhouse. I'm sure it's great but there are so many steakhouses here in the armpit of the Midwest that we just can't get too excited about it.

So ...we opted for Seafood! Yummy, yummy seafood. This restaurant at the Venetian looks very appealing to us and the menu also has a number of items that grabbed our attention. So Aquaknox it is!

Here's the link to their restaurant ...

And ... I think we're going to rent a cabana at the adult pool one day at Mandalay Bay!! We can get an opium bed at Moorea Beach ... tee hee.

Isn't it cool?

Jay asked me if it comes with a small Chinese man and an opium pipe. I asked him if it came with a dwarf guide to lead us to the greatest of all underground dwellings where the dwarf clan known as the Longbeards live.

Turns out both of us are wrong. Free Smiley Face Courtesy of www.FreeSmileys.org

EDITED TO ADD: Bwaaaaahahahahahaha!!! Aquaknox has a LARDON salad on their dinner menu!!! Those of you who just read my food porn update on the DIS will know why this is so funny. **cackles to self**

EDITED TO ADD MORE: I bought our tickets to the Star Trek Experience this week ... saved about $8 by purchasing them in advance. Rather than go into all the dorkie joy with you now, I think I'll save it for when we get back. Only three more weeks to go!!

And I've been shopping like crazy lately - got some great deals through Ann Taylor and I think I've picked up four or five dresses from them and a really cute silver evening bag. I realized that all I had was black ... but shoes and bag should match and somewhere along the way I forgot to pick up a silver bag to match my silver sandals ... gasp!

The good news about all that shopping is that some of those dresses will do double duty at work and will also provide me with some nice variety for our August trip and October trip.

Wondering about August? Look for a new post soon sharing more vacation joy!!

Breda Aquaknow looks wonderful, I'll bet you'll be checking out that cheeseplate along with some other yummy foods.

And I could certainly get into that opium bed!!!!!

Hey Deb! You know me too well ... I've already earmarked the cheese plate and the seafood trio -shrimp, lobster, and crab - sign me up!

I think I saw somewhere that this restaurant offers some kind of chocolate tasting as one of their dessert options, so I guess you know how I'm going to finish the meal, too. ;-)

And doesn't that opium bed just look naughty? So plush and so lazy ...

Figures you and Jay will have your own opium den...er...bed to snooze and lounge in by the pool. Heh.

And you found your seafood holy trinity, too. And when you factor in cheese plates and chocolate desserts....what's not to love there?

How could we pass up our own opium den ... bed? It comes fully stocked ... with fruit!!

As for the restaurant ... I just hope the food is as good as it sounds. I couldn't really find any reviews even though it's been open for a couple of years.

Jamie, sadly the opium bed appears to have gone the way of spa treatments while we're in Vegas. When I called to reserve one they jacked the price on me from what was published on the website; add that to the fact that I really didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card to the valley girl manning the phone and that means no opium bed, no little Chinese man, or middle earth dwarves for us.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!

Jay said he'd rather spend the money on food. ;-)
